Africa

1. I think it was very interesting and inspiring how long he spent capturing the wild life of Africa. It is cool how touched he was and the connection he had with the animals. I think it was cool how the pictures were all in black and white. I thought the variety of animals he captured was also cool and unique. 3. In this photo there are a bunch of giraffes in this open prairie. It really stuck out to me and the vastness that the picture shows is why it's my favorite. 4. I think the only rule that could the best relate to the photo is simplicity. The photographer is focusing on the on giraffe, but gets the rest of the giraffes in the background. 5/6/7. He photographs on medium-format black and white film without telephoto or zoom lenses. (He uses a Pentax 67ll with only two fixed lenses. This is important because he believes that being close to the animals make a huge difference in his ability to reveal their personality. 8. "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close." .http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Brandt#Photography
