I chose this picture because it shows how much people were loved and how much people loved others. The angle of this picture is amazing and the precious moment that the father is having with his son's memorial. This photo made the top 40 because 9/11 was a major emotional impact on America and this photo exemplifies how special it was for people.

Harold Whittles hears for the first time after a doctor places an earpiece in his left ear. The reason I chose this photo is because it shows how precious not only hearing is, but life in general. It really just stuck out to me and spoke to me in a way that I can't explain. Just the surprised look in the boy's eyes. You can see the joy in his eyes and how happy he is. Again it showed how precious life is and no matter ho young you are, you can still experience joy.

This photo struck me right as I saw this. I have seen this before. I chose it because out of all the old photos I thought that this was a big problem, race. It's very powerful seeing anyone especially black's standing up defiantly. This photo made the top 40 because it's a very powerful photo and the stand of the century. The fact that two African Americans taking a stand after their race in the Olympics is very inspiring to pretty much everyone that looks at it.
